About Me

Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Melanie    Beddingfield and I am a teacher at South  Lincoln Elementary. This is my  sixth year teaching 7th grade and 8th grade mathematics. I  graduated from Lincoln County High School in 2005 and went to The  University of Alabama in Huntsville on a basketball scholarship.  I had no  idea what I wanted to pursue, but after working in an after school  program and coaching AAU teams for two years, I decided to pursue an  education degree.  After making this decision, I transferred to Middle  Tennessee State University for better opportunities in the Education  field. There, I  studied education and mathematics for two and half year  and earned my bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a  concentration in Secondary Education including grades seven through twelve. Quickly after getting my degree in December of 2009, I got my first job at Lincoln County High School as a full time Algebra 1 teacher for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year. I enjoyed my year at my alma matter, but was offered a position at South Lincoln shortly after and couldn't be happier to be here today!

I am living in Flintville with my wonderful dog, Rocky, who is an English Bulldog. We are so happy to be adding a new family member this October when I marry the love of my life, Ryan Camp.  Ryan is a supervisor at Goodman, here in Fayetteville, TN.  He is also the son of fellow South Lincoln teacher Mrs. Donna Camp.

When I'm not teaching, I'm spending time with my family, watching the Tennessee Vols or either watching, playing, or coaching basketball. I've been playing basketball since I could walk and currently coach the South Lincoln Lady Eagles Basketball team. Of the past 5 years that I have coached these girls, we have made it to the County Championship at the end of the season four times, taking away three runner up trophies and the Championship in the 2013 - 2014 season.  I cannot wait for this upcoming season! I still get butterflies every time we walk out on the floor!

I'm looking forward to great year!
